I think that "Dr Dobb's Journal" had a some articles and source-code for
a cross-assembler.
Here in sweden we have a company: "Computer press", they have a book with
a collection of articles from Dr Dobb's ( Dr Dobb's Toolbook of 68000
programming , 400 pages, Brady 1986 ) the book also include a ms-dos disk with
an executable version of the X-assembler.
