Lines: 14 Question: What's the best V.32 modem to buy right now to maximize one's chances of being to upgrade to V.32bis? I suspect that real "modem" companies like Hayes and Telebit would be more likely to offer upgrades than companies which just throw chipsets together, but I understand that some modems even from these companies just don't have the horsepower to do V.32bis. Do any companies make a practice of offering upgrades to modems which are totally different on the hardware level than their replacements? Thanks in advance, -- Steve Kanefsky kanefsky@cs.umn.edu
