Newsgroups: comp.graphics Path: utzoo!utgpu!cunews!rmallett From: rmallett@ccs.carleton.ca (Rick Mallett) Subject: Request for info on radiosity programs Message-ID: <1990Dec4.222825.16651@ccs.carleton.ca> Keywords: radiosity Organization: Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada Distribution: comp Date: Tue, 4 Dec 90 22:28:25 GMT Does anyone have any information on programs that use the radiosity approach to rendering. I'm interested in both commercial and public domain code although I'm pretty certain that the latter doesn't exist. I'd also like to know if there are any fundamental limitations to radiosity. I've noticed that the samples of radiosity rendered scenes on the Siggraph demo reels are always inside rooms. I presume that solving the "global illumination equation" requires that the space be bounded but are there other fundamental limitations. Thanks in advance for any info and if I turn up anything interesting I'll post the info (i.e. not re-gurgitate) back to the group. Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
