I agree. I support Stallman's rights to use the gnu notes streams as he sees fit. This is not possible if comp.lang.c++ and g++ are tied together, because then his comments are inappropriately posted to comp.lang.c++. Previously, comp.lang.c++ has several times degenerated into long winded, vindictive political arguments -- with the result that some of the most knowledgeble and experienced c++ programmers no longer participate in comp.lang.c++. I'd like to avoid a repeat of this problem by keeping comp.lang.c++ on the subject. Both the gnu c++ notes streams and comp.lang.c++ are strong enough now to stand on the own readership. Can the responsible people please unbundle these notes streams, so that C++ subscribers can receive those portions they desire?
