Keywords: MS FORTRAN Compiler 5.0 Query Message-ID: <533@shum.UUCP> Date: 1 Dec 90 12:42:28 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Reply-To: marx@vms.huji.ac.il Organization: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel Lines: 26 I purchased recently the MS Fortran compiler. Tried to install it on my 386 (25 MHZ ms-dos 3.3) machine. The thing bombed: While trying it out with its sample programs (sieve etc.) the Link editor responded "Invalid object module". I have tried it many times, both for some other (well tried) programs and on other machines (XT clone, AT clone) - nothing doing. Fortunately - one of the computers available to me did respond favourably - this is an original IBM PS/2 55-SX in the office. (Some people still buy IBM...). As I need the compiler for academic work, not in the office - I heeded the advice given in the Referenc Manual for such a problem: " Ask Microsoft". The question was sent to them by the local MS agent - to no awail. I am waiting for an answer for over three months. If anyone can help me - I will be most grateful. -Michael +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Michael M.
