You may wish to check out Widgets/286 from Acumen Software. It has many of the features of an interface builder, and brings Macintosh style look and feel to DOS. What is nice is that Widgets is much easier to use than the normal Smalltalk V/Mac stuff. Acumen expects to release a V/Mac version in January, which will let you build (I hope) really portable applications. Widgets has an interface editor, Dialog classes a la V/Mac, and a ton of new classes that implement a graphical interface, including buttons, palettes, list boxes, menu bars, panes, windows, gauges and sliders, and pull down menus. I have no connection with Acumen, other than being a happy beta tester.
