We are considering the purchase of a SimpLAN ServerJet but we'd like to know if anyone on the net has had experince with this product that he/she would like to share first. For those who don't know what this is, here is a brief summary from its ad: - Easy to install, plug right into your HP Laserjet II, IID, III or IIID (the Optional I/O slot) - Uses low cost, modular, telephone-type cables - Turbo speed lets your document print faster Serial rats as high as 115,200 baud - 256 KB to 1 MB of buffer memory allows simultaneous document transfer - Variety of models to fit your printing needs Basically, it's a board that plugs into the HP's Optional I/O slot which acts as a print server for up to 10 computers. And since it "emulates" a LJ 100%, it is supposed to be transparent to all the user and can be hooked up to any machine that supports a LJ (from Macs to VAXes) Those same computers can also access a second printer if a second one is also setted up as such. Comments? Experiences? Thanks. Thomas.
