The file server is a Mac SE/30 running AppleShare, with an Asante Ethernet card and Phase 2 drivers. This setup works well, and is surprisingly fast. The Compaq can see the server and the LaserWriters which are really services offered by LaserShare, which is also running on the server. The problem is, nothing on the network can see the compaq. I ran InterPoll on another SE/30 running the same card and drivers as the server, but I couldn't see the Compaq. On the other hand, we also have a bunch of Macs and PCs on LocalTalk, connected to out server (which is also running Apple's Internet Router), and the SE/30 running InterPoll can see the localtalk PCs just fine. I'm pretty sure this is a Phase1/Phase2 issue. But I can't imagine what it is. The router is already routing between phases 1 and 2, since the etalk Macs can talk to the ltalk macs without trouble. The Enet PC must be a Phase 2 node, since that's all that AppleShare PC supports with enet. Any ideas? --- Alexis Rosen Owner/Sysadmin, PANIX Public Access Unix, NY {cmcl2,apple}!panix!alexis Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
