We have an HP LaserJet with PostScript hanging off a DECStation 5000, and the other DECStations and the PCs can use it just fine. I want to allow the MACS (through PAP) access to this printer. I can certainly go through the work to install CAP, but after ftping it and browsing the files, I note two things: (1) it's not indicated that it will run on the DECStation/Ultrix (in fact, one poster noted some problems with that configuration) and (2) I don't want/need all the extra stuff that CAP gives me. Is there someone who has implemented PAP for a generic UNIX system (is there such a thing?) using something like DLI to access the ethernet? I forgot to mention above that all of our machines are connected to thin wire, including the MACs (they run NCSA telnet and ftp for net access, but do have Ethertalk installed). Stanley A.
