I have managed to get CAP compiled, but I can't get atlook to see the gateway. This is the only unix system using the gateway, and I only want to run lwpr, so I have not installed kip. The gateway was configured by our VMS systems manager, and I've gotten his config listings. The problem I am having is determining what to use for the xx.yy appletalk network number in the atalk.local file. Since we aren't running kip, I have no way of knowing what this number is since there is no atalkatab file. I also noticed that the fastpath does not echo ping packets when I ping it. Is it supposed to? If anyone can offer any help, I'd appreciate it. my atalk.local looks like this: xx.yy 97 97 High Energy Physics xx.yy 99 129.79.157.99 129.79.157.99 is the ethernet IP address of the gateway, and 129.79.156.1 is the appletalk IP address. 129.79.157.97 is my host address. Any ideas? This is all new to me, and noone around here has been able to help. ell | Ellsworth Wente wente@bronze.ucs.indiana.edu | | Research Support Scientist | | Indiana Univ.
