It is faster than a 1541 and runs more quietly. I am now looking for a drive alignment program that will work for this machine. It is a direct drive machine, not belt driven like the 1541. I am actually more worried about getting into the box and making adjustments. All of the 1541 alignment programs that I have seen advertised have instructions for adjusting the innards of the 1541.
