Message-ID: <2254.275a8c89@iccgcc.decnet.ab.com> Date: 3 Dec 90 22:34:01 GMT Lines: 21 Hi. Does anyone know of a way to direct the input from a serial port AS WELL AS input from the keyboard to an application running in an xterm? This is what I want to do. I'm using an application (window dumb) which takes a serial number as input. I want to attach a barcode reader to the serial port and use its output as input to the application. I also want to be able to use the keyboard to enter the serial number. The application is a purchased package so I can't get into its code. I have an HP V/360 workstation running HPUX 7.0 and X Rel. 3. HP used to make a barcode reader that was HP-HIL compatible but they recently obsoleted it. So, the only way I have to connect my barcode reader is through the serial port. I know this may fall under the heading of a UNIX posting but I thought it may be worth posting here also.
