I have a dead Apple 20Meg SCSI SC20 - the disk seems to
be dead and has been proclaimed unrepairable by the
dealer.

Has anyone tried replacing the disk in the SC20 box
with another drive themselves?  Does it have to be
a 20Meg drive or could it be anything?  I'm tempted
to get a 60Meg drive and try to use it.  Does the
SC20 box have any special peculiarities?  Would I
be able to format the new disk with the standard
Apple tools, or would I have to get Silverlining?
(I'm tempted to get it anyhow...)

I'd prefer responses by mail please - while I do
read this group regularily, it gets expired even
more regularily.  If requested I will post a summary
