I cannot say for sure if there is a problem with your Quantum drive, but I do know that unlike previous Mac II's, the cx and ci were built to be positioned either vertically or horizonally. I think you may solve your drives problem by positioning the cx the way you want it and then reformatting the drive. (Be sure to backup the drive prior to reformatting it, tho.) If that doesn't help, then I would go back to the dealer and have them take a look at it for you. John
