I went to Cornell also, and am familiar with their Vax/VMS machine. I FTP'ed all the time out to Stanford "sumex-aim" and it worked fine. And all the files on the mainframe at Cornell were stored in .hqx format, so no problem there. I'm not sure how to mail files, but there has to be a way to attach files to an e-mail, I would think.
