It was totally dead(wouldn't respond to CMD-CMD ~, or any other sequence)-not a good feeling when you've just max-ed out your credit. Anyway, the problem was a loose SIMM (I had an 8 meg upgrade done upon arrival.) Thanks to everyone who responded. -Charlie (Keep those chips tight)
