  I just got Cassandra1.3.dist.tar from a remote ftp site.  Unfortunately, I
could not execute the application.  I receive the error message -- "This 
program is not compatible with the workspace manager; it probably should be run
in a shell or termianl window".

  Does anyone out there have encountered such problem?  I would like to hear
from you guys out there.  Thanks.
