I believed that and copied from 386/ix to DOS, from DOS to Coherent. But now I tried cpio and tar on the raw device and it worked perfectly. Now I use cpio to exchange data between my 386/ix and Coherent. When you read with 386/ix Coherent diskettes it's just a little bit slower because Coherent formats the diskettes with a default Interleave of 1 : 6. Therefore: Never trust any articles before you tried it yourself.
