When I run non-windows programs, the PURE mode is turned on, which disables any extensions beyond normal VGA capability. This prevents programs like WordPerfect from taking advantage of some the higher resolution modes of the VRAM VGA (like displaying 132 columns). I resorted to using a batch file to start DOS applications that require high resolution modes. This isn't a very good solution because when you switch to another task and come back to the DOS high resolution task, Windows does not restore the proper video mode. Has anyone else noticed this problem and come up with a better solution? BTW, I'm using the Windows 3 720x512 256 color driver that came with the VRAM VGA. Chuck -- Chuck H.
