"It's not a bug, it's a feature." First, let me make the disclaimer that it wasn't my decision, so don't blame me. :) But there is a valid reason for this. You're put into pure mode because you can run into some real problems trying to switch between extended modes and the Windows screen. I know, you're saying that you've been going along just fine using WordPerfect and never had a problem. Well, some configurations *do* cause problems, and the marketing people wanted to play it safe. I understand (but can't be sure, as I don't do Windows stuff anymore) that the company is working on a new Virtual Display Driver which will handle extended modes properly. When/If this is completed it shouldn't set pure mode.
