I have an application (call it S) which allows multiple client applications (call them C1, C2, ..., Cn) to connect to it and request some service. S will perform the service and return the results to Ci. The Ci can run on any of the workstations on our local network. For an upcoming demo, I would like S to behave as follows: When S encounters an error for Ci, S will display a message in a notice on the workstation where Ci is executing. So the question is ... how can I create multiple base frames in a single application where each frame is associated with a different display? Notes: Hardware Sun3&4 OS SunOS 4.1 Software Openwindows 2.0 Application The Ci's are existing executables (sans source) and can not be modified to receive the message and pop-up their own notice containing the message. -- Rod Gregoire EDS Detroit R&D ...!uunet!edsr!edsdrd!rng 3551 Hamlin, 4th Floor rng@edsdrd.eds.com Auburn Hills, MI 48326
