Goodness, I never would have expected such actions against myself or any other member for dissenting views. In order to have a semblance of a credible case, the national office is making charges of organizing blind people against the Federation. These charges, however, are trumped ones, which, if you would hear me out, I think I could convince you of. I have indeed expressed my views to others, but have done so openly and within the organization itself. It is only now that I am going public with this situation because the cards are so stacked against me. In another message I explain that the national and state president already tried to expel me without notice at a state board meeting about 10 days ago. Failing in that attempt, the national board is seeking to override the decision of the Massachusetts affiliate. I have heard a rumor from a reliable source that the national board did in fact vote to expel me and that a letter is on the way. This the Wednesday after the Saturday board meeting at the national center. I still have not received official word of the decision. To some extent, you and other Federationists who have known me have to trust me when I tell you that have done nothing to deserve such punitive action. I cannot give you all the details now, mainly for lack of time. I will gladly, however, distribute information to you and anyone else, documenting actions done by me and to me since the Dallas convention. I ask you to find out as much as possible for youself, learning what you can from all sources and seeking to verify the statements made by any source. If, after learning as much as you practically can, you do in fact conclude this to be unjust, then I would certainly appreciate your help in spreading the word within Maryland and working to keep me as a fellow Federationist. I have dedicated myself for ten years to the Federation as my major extracurricular organizational involvement, as I'm sure many others listening have also done. I have believed in our philosophy and essential objectives and then thought for myself as what is the best way to implement them in our society. I have never deliberately tried to bring the organization down. If some of my views have stirred controversey seen as disruptive, it may be such, but it was inadvertently so, and that is part of the democratic activity of any collection of individuals. Thanks for responding to my earlier message and for continuing to listen. --Jamal-- -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!101!460.0!Jamal.Mazrui Internet: Jamal.Mazrui@p0.f460.n101.z1.fidonet.org Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
