I couldn't agree with you more that radio reading should read things other than books--magazines, journals, etc., that we have no access to. What irritates me even more than the fact they read books at all is the fact that often they read a book or magazine which has already been recorded; and, for thge most part, their readers and certainly the boradcast quality never compares to N. L. S. standards. Besides, just as you get to the interesting part the broadcast is over. I'd rather have the entire book so I can read as much as I want at one time. I think the idea of a radio reading service is good, but I'm not sure for the most part that they are what they should be. The one that was in Seattle when I lived there wasn't too bad. They had talk shows discussing special topics and they'd have blind guests on the show--for example, canes versus dogs, residential/ public schools, and I thought they always had good representatives from both sides. Take care, Linda -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!130!33.0!Linda.Iverson Internet: Linda.Iverson@p0.f33.n130.z1.fidonet.org Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
