Summary: Panasonic TV. I have a 9 year old Panasonic 19" Color TV and I have seen a progressive "problem". I applied my limited knowledge of TV but to no avail. The model # is CT9071 (It has "quartz" tuning and remote but the tuner is fine.) Here is the problem: The TV works just fine (sound/reception) except for a vertical blackish smear on the left side of the screen. It's totally black at the very edge and just "smear" black perhaps 5-6 inches towards the center. When brightness is at the lowest, it covers most of the screen - when at the brightest, only the very edge. The designers did not bother to put a H-Hold pot on the back but I checked it and it works. So does the tuner as well as the power supply and HV. I have access to a cheap (read:1940's) 'scope, a voltmeter, but no signal generator :-( Anyone have any suggestions? Please reply via e-mail and I will make the summary available. Take care. -- _______________________________________________________________________________ "The Force will be with you, always."
