I've never heard of SWE being strictly woman-space. The Berkeley
campus chapter has traditionally being very forward in making the male
students aware that they are allowed to join.

There was an assertion of woman-space by NAAFA's Feminist SIG at one
point last year though. Basically they wanted to preserve woman-space
at the SIG's meetings at conventions. I have not heard any protests
from any of the men who'd originally raised questions about it. There
are some, though less, cases of some of the men creating man-space.
There seems to be enough communication in mutual space that having
times for faction-space doesn't bother anyone severely.
