As many of you know, I've been preparing a column of selected Usenet
traffic for Computer Architecture News, a publication of the ACM's
special interest group on computer architecture (Siggarch).

Permission has been sought and received from all authors whose material
has appeared in CAN, a policy which will be maintained.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble finding enough good material for
the column.  Therefore from time to time I plan to introduce topics
in the hope of triggering some interesting commentary.
The first topic will be the future evolution of buses (see following posting).
