You have come across one of the hotest concepts in computing: DIS (Data
Interpretation System!  Metaphor produced this sexy equipment from 1984
until the end of November 1990.  The founders of Metaphor, ex-PARC people,
recently worked out a deal with IBM to market thier software as IBM-DIS.
Since IBM is primarily a hardware company, Metaphor quit making grey boxes.

Too bad, Metaphor hardware is really sexy.  It looks real good sitting on
my desk.  The software is fairly cool too--its all icon driven and programmed
by connecting arrows between pictures.  A system depends on a series of
networked processors specialized for file service, communications, database,
mail, printing, all supporting a bunch of disk-less workstations.

Support is availiable from Sequence Support Services located somewhere
