All the bugs that my changes fixed were fixed in this latest version,
but my code wasn't used.  (I don't really care - as long as the bugs are
gone.)

I did post a new makefile.msc and diffs for elvis.lnk.  These make
MS-DOS binaries smaller and faster.  They are in alt.sources.

I didn't find any serious bugs (other than those listed in KNOWN.BUGS)
in my preliminary testing.  I haven't tried Elvis 1.4 on Minix yet.
