I recently changed the way message archiving is done for MHSNews/comp.protocols.iso.x400 so that the most recent messages are always available. The dates have the form yymmdd-yymmdd, where yy=year, mm=month, and dd=day. The files with .Z extensions are in compressed format; see compress(1) on UNIX and analogous utilities on other systems. Use binary mode to transfer these files. Messages in the archive files are delimited in MMDF format, using ^A^A^A^A ("\001\001\001\001\n" for you C buffs out there) at the beginning and end of each message.
