Of course, I do know fo '040 boards in the works for all mahcines _execpt_ the 500. And yes, the Amiga motherboard _is_ designed for to be able to accept the '040 in the sense that (we're talking A2000-a and above, here) there are dedicated CPU slots in each one for future CPU's.
