I would opt for the Deskjet Plus. The improvements on the 500 only benefit MS-DOS computer owners. The things that matter to an Amiga owner are identical, except that the Plus will have the older smearable ink, something you can easily rectify after your first cartridge. Definetly do not buy the original Deskjet though.
