I use the Seagate ST296N with ST, no problems.
If you have a proper SCSI-controller and software, there should be no
problems.
Your Seagate is SCSI???

To recommend something, I think the ICD Advantage is the best SCSI-controller
for Atari ST, and the software is included in the package.
