The characters are stored in a File, but you can't play Wizardry II with just beginners. I have Wizardry II only for the Apple II, but I think you needed level 13 or 12 characters for the transfer. Most of the fun in playing Wizardry is between levels 1 and 14, since that's when it is most difficult. It's possible, but it will ruin Wizardry for those who would use the files. A lot of personal effort goes into building a character. There are also a lot of different ways to build characters. I personally like fighters that have all mage and priest spells available. Lords are not bad either, but they require a lot of points to advance from one level to another. Ninjas are kind of fun, since they have some looting capability. Maybe we should pressure the publisher of Wizardry to make a special deal for those who accidentally bough Wizardry II without knowing that it requires the first scenario.
