I've been working on and programming the mac for some time, but I'm
new to the networking and BBS world.  I would like to know how I can
download freeware/shareware programs from computers on the network (I
heard that some computer at Stanford has a good collection).  I've
picked up pieces here in there about FTP's and BinHex and so on, but
would really appreciate a coherent summary of the procedure involved.
