I'm interested in looking for *NIX packages that will convert US mail addresses to the format required by the Post Office. Source would be nice, but binary is acceptable. We run Interactive 386/IX and a BSD 4.3 derived *NIX (the 4.3 is, sadly, not long for this world). I need two things: first, a way to convert our existing addresses, and then, a way to do it interactivly. We can handle most any interface between our software and the package (if it supports one). I'm also looking for soundex algorithms. I seems to me that a source package went by on the net a while back, but (of course) I didn't save it. Any source, leads, rumors, pointers, dereferences, or large pieces of chocolate would be appreciated. I know the packages are out there; I can hear the cash registers even now (Ching!). Thanks Muchly, Danny gatech!itm!danny
