If you mean that you get something that looks like: {IMPORT C:\\PICTURES\\SAILBOAT.GIF\} then you simply need to toggle the view field codes option, also you want draft view off, page view off, and show all (which is the * button in the ribbon) off. Have you tried printing the file as it is, after you import the graphic?
