Does anybody have an opinion on whether I should use a vendor supplied Motif product, or is it better to get the source direct from OSF and compile it myself? In particular, the machine is a DecStation 3100, I could buy DEC's Motif 1.1 developers kit, but the University is in the process (long and drawn out) of getting a campus-wide motif source license. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two approaches? The second question is, what is available in terms of Motif 1.1 documentation? I assume that both of the above approaches would give me on-line man-pages. But what about a comprehensive document explaining what has been changed in 1.1 (more than a list of new function names)? Is the Prentice Hall OSF-Motif series available for 1.1 yet? How about the Young book? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- = Matthew M.
