the december issue of dog fancy has an item about this.  ("it's a dog's
world" column, page 13)  a grooming salon called Groomingtail's, in the
chelsea district of manhattan (new york city) offeres a special 50% 
discount on full-service grooming for guide dogs.  additionally they will
pick up and deliver the dog free.  groomingtail's is located at 261 w. 21st
st (between 7th and 8th avenues) and the phone number (for an appointment)
is 212-929-5074.
i have no connection with this place and i'm not endorsing it, just
providing the informatiorn (for whatever it's worth) from dog fancy.
