Since there was such constant controversy on the list about this I dug into
some library catalogs and sought what might elucidate the matter. If someone
could find more references to Qur'an histories I'd be appreciative!

A Jewish friend who majored in Semitic Studies referred me to Rudolf Kittel
regarding variants of the Torah/Old Testament.
