The following requires ^^^^^^^^ >an interactive session, but only one program is needed and passwords are not ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have used similar type process in certain applications. For those applications that run "unattended" are the types that I was referring to. I don't want to have to hard-code the password for applications that connect to a remote machine where the local machine has no "DATABASE" physically residing on it (only a few executables such as "orasrv/tcptlisrv", "sqlplus" and "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle"). Any suggestions here? -- Steven R.
