From the (Sun OS 4.1) man page of chmod:

    SYNOPSIS
	 chmod [ -fR ] mode filename ...
    
    SYNOPSIS
	 /usr/5bin/chmod [ -fR ] mode filename ...

Type in the <mode> argument that you would have used with chmod.
