Grafstone is a proprietary benchmark from Workstation Labs.  It seems to be
essentially x11perf organized into categories; i.e. it test the ability to
draw primitives.  You can use x11perf to do this for X graphics or make simple
programs to draw primitives in anyones graphics language.

BUT, this just is not enough.  YOU (the person wanting information from the
benchmark) have to analyze your applications to see what primitives they are
using.  A better benchmark is the Picture Level Benchmark (PLB) in which
you provide data in the form of polygons, vectors, text, etc. from your
applications in a special file format and the vendor runs your data through
PLB and produces a report given detailed information on performance.  This
benchmark is NOT ready yet.  The January 1991 issue of the Anderson Report
will contain preliminary numbers from several workstation vendors.
