  Brad, there *may* be some resistance to proposals *at this stage*
 but PLEASE REMEMBER after dpANS comes THE PUBLIC RESPONSE PERIOD and
 everything is up for grabs once again, in effect. We're just trying to
 reach *some closure* at this level of a very intricate, formal and
 legalistic proceeding of a sort that is alien to all our Forthian
 natures!

 -> P.S. Jax, I probably won't hack the dpANS to pieces.  First, my
 -> comments are not the kind that are likely to carry weight with ANSI.
 -> (I commented elsewhere that the ANSI guidelines favor improvement at
 -> the expense of standardization.) Second, and more significant, I
 -> prefer "voting with my feet" -- it's easier to ignore it than to
 -> fight it.  (And I appreciated your "camel" quip.)


         Once again, ANSForth will be there for ONE REASON: to provide us
 with a publically-accepted universal portable Forth. THERE WILL BE NO
 DOOR-TO-DOOR SEARCHES BY THE FORTH POLICE to insure that you use it! :-)

         It is just ONE MORE| TRICK in your bag. Forth programmers have
 to be salespeople ... this is one more product for you to sell an
 otherwise-recalcitrant client.

         Frankly, I'm looking forward to it!
