Actually this whole argument is moot. A much more effective way to hide critical data is the "purloined letter" technique. Just install TeX on you system and stick critical files in one of the PK font directories with names like CMXBR1000.PK - no one will ever find it! In a few days, you won't be able to find it yourself :-).
