Subject: Problems with getty/serial port

    I cannot seem to get getty and the serial port to talk to one another.
The major/minor numbers are 4/2, are these correct (tty2)? I rearranged tty1
and tty2 (swapped them) so I could use term on my modem, which is in the
second serial slot (COM2). All I got was garbage and what looked like parts
of the kernel.
    In my /etc/ttys file is the line 2d2, which is getty,2400n81,line 2.
This should work. I also started getty on line 2 manually. The modem answered
the phone as ordered but nothing happened.
    Nothing at all came over the line.
 
    Any suggestions?
