There are about 10 Mac users right now, using the Sun as fileserver. All of them access the Sun via a Webster Multigate. It recently came to my attention that occasionally, the AUFS parent kills off a child process serving a user with a tickle timeout. This has been known to happen in the middle of running an application from the server, as well as when the user is idle for a few minutes. The fastest I have recorded is logging in at 14:26 and getting dropped at 14:28. This does not happen to a Macintosh directly on the Ethernet, just on LocalTalk (PhoneNet, actually) via the Multigate. Anyone ever see this one before?
