Lines: 18 I am trying to setup a SLIP connection between my Sun3/80 at work and my Amiga 3000 at home. I have the KA9Q/NOS code installed on my Amiga. It seems to work fine using the loopback port. On the Sun I have obtained the slipware.tar package, which consists of slip-4.0 and tip modified to be able to run dialout SLIP. I have that installed, but have had trouble getting it to connect to the Amiga. Any hints at getting them to connect would be appreciated. However, what I really want to know is if it is possible to have SLIP on the Sun without installing the pseudo-device in the kernel? I would like to make the Sun SLIP available to some other people where we cannot update the kernel. I know my way around UNIX fairly well, but not the insides of the kernel or implementing device handlers. If there is some way to do this, I would appreciate any pointers to the software. -- Alan Bair SSDT (formerly SPS CAD) Motorola, Inc. Logic Simulation & Test Austin, Texas abair@turbinia.sps.mot.com
