Am trying to bring up the node, and every time I try a tcp function (such as ftp, or anything) I get a message in my DM area about an improper X function and the process being disconnected. The process seems to be tcpd, because it immediately exits. Then I have to shut down the node and reboot, lest the node totally lockup. Why is tcpd exiting, and what can I do to keep it up? I am running a pretty default config, as I have yet to restore my files. I am running tcpd, llbd, glbd, rgyd (default registry, mine isn't restored yet), inetd, my networks file, a shortened version of my hosts file, and not much else. I am logging in as root. Also, how do I rename my //node_..... to the old name I used to use? I want to change the workstation name (in other words) -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. Weinstein, CDP, CCP Elm Coordinator Datacomp Systems, Inc.
