Addressing question 2, GEnie will not accept the delete key because of their
network.  What you end up doing (Like myself and a lot of other people) is use
the backspace (^H) key for this.  When you connect to GEnie, in their setups
is a "Set delete" key section.  Do this and hit your backspace.
