Pointers do NOT repeat NOT "get curdled all the time" in such an environment; as I have pointed out in related postings, I use such a system as my primary UNIX user interface, and it has NOT been a problem. Of course, if YOU really do curdle your pointers all the time, we'll have to take your word for it.
